I used to try to disguise the fact that l could not hear clearly. My tactics were basically catching one word ofwhat was said or what I thought was said, and provide an answer or comment, which in many cases was not related to the actual or original discussion. My wife would later tell me that I successfully changed the conversation.
To cover this gaff I would begin to speak longer, often giving a prolonged discussion with many examples and analogies, hoping that no one remembered the original conversation. Seems I alone thought this was very clever.
Visiting your office was a difficult first step, but I was made to feel very comfortable, relaxed and welcomed. The staff was professional and friendly. Once I was fitted with the hearing device, my world changed. I am so pleased that I can finally hear, and my family is thrilled.
It is wonderful hearing what is being said instead of guessing about half of it.
Female voices, in particular, were extremely difficult to understand; for the most part I would only understand half of what my wife was saying unless we were next to each other, and I could see her lips. I can now hear the complete conversation and even different pitches in my wife's voice for the first time in many years.
Further, I work in law enforcement, and your hearing devices have made me whole; I need all my senses to work at optimum levels, because it can mean the difference between life and death. l'm now much more confident and self assured.
To say the least my experience with my new hearing devices have been nothing but wonderful. My only regret is not having them sooner, it would have made many hours of my life more enjoyable.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely,

A note of thanks for helping me with my hearing problems. In March 2010 I replied to a card from Advanced Audiology and Hearing Aid Center. It was the best thing I could have done for myself, as I was becoming depressed due to not being able to hear conversations, sing in the church choir, enjoy TV or enjoy long-time friendships due to my hearing loss.
Although I was a little discouraged at first, I'm SO GLAD that you continued to work with me until now I can thankfully say I have very good hearing for a 78-year-old woman.
Truly having my hearing checked and my hearing aids kept at their best is a blessing from the Lord
Sincerely,
Doris S.
